American Estates: Edward's Handmade Spot Carved Freehand (EF 1)
Product Number: 004-009-5841
Edward's originated in St. Claude, France, and was considered one of the foremost pipe makers in the world, as well as one of the most longstanding. With political connections to Colonial Algeria, they obtained some of the best Algerian briar available, offering up both freehand and classical shapes - all at a very fair price - until the supply vanished during the political turmoil of Algeria's independence. The company then relocated to America in hopes of creating a new pipe dynasty.
Self described as an "American Charatan", the company's aesthetic is difficult to pin down, but all of the pipes are oil-cured to ensure nothing interferes between the tobacco and the smoker's own palette.
