This is a well conceived and jaunty take on the Cherrywood, with really nice grain all around, and a really nicely stretched 'S' curve to the shank and stem, brought to you by Elliot Nachwalter. The Briar Workshop is no longer in operation but in their day they became widely known for graceful shapes with strong influence from the Danes. This pipe, of course, is no different and while the shank bears a bit more meat than one might expect from the Danish tradition, overall the whimsy and grace of the composition certainly lean that direction. Despite the lovely grain, this piece does have a number of fills mainly located in the front of the bowl.
