Though the pricing of pipes designed by Ed Burak can range from the thousands of dollars, to less than a hundred bucks, they all share certain common features. One of those features was Burak's ethics; he didn't like disguise or distraction on his briars, seeing to it that they left his workshop with simple finishes, no fills, and free of "gingerbread." In his own words, they were "naked," with nothing to hide, and you got what you saw.
