American Estates: Brian Ruthenberg Smooth Ramses (Caliper grade)

Product Number: 004-009-4954

This is a piece Brian Ruthenberg made in 2004 that got a lot of attention. Since then he's used this shape as an avatar on multiple online forums. His caliper grade is reserved only for his best pieces, and this clearly qualifies. I called Brian as soon as we received this as an estate to ask how many smooth Ramses pieces he made. His answer? This is the only one. If ever there was a collector seeking out a carver's best work, Ruthenberg fans should take note of this one right here. The only drawback to the pipe is the chamber. Since the airway is drilled slightly high (due to the shape), someone made some sort of pipe mud to pack into the bottom of the chamber to raise the floor slightly. This prevents one from packing a bowl and only being able to smoke half of it before the ash is level with the airway.
