Alexander Tupitsyn: Sandblasted Squat Bent Apple
Product Number: 002-622-0012
Off the top of my bald pate, I can’t recall a Tupitsyn bent shape which didn’t feature a fine, intriguing silhouette, nor a profile which wasn’t sufficiently individual to qualify as a signature – quite impressive for a carver who only began the solo portion of his career about a year ago (he also remains a carver at PS Studio). With a low profile oval shank/saddle stem of subtle, almost languid curvature, as well as a comfortingly spherical bowl, almost appearing to be held aloft by the former - this bent Apple is the very essence of modernism, and a splendid example of Alexander's ever-evolving aesthetic.
