Ascorti pipes are made by Giuseppe and Roberto Ascorti and began in 1980 when Roberto (the father) wanted to make pipes full in the Italian style and tradition. When the Caminetto factory closed, the artisans moved on to Ascorti and, under the guidance of Robero, today carve pipes that are regarded by collectors of the brand.
Each Ascorti pipe is carved by craftsman working with hand-selected briar to fashion the smooth, rusticated, and sandblasted pieces. With the Italian preference for acrylic bits, each Ascorti pipe has a stem that is carved from a solid sheet of acrylic (which can be black or other colors) and has the tenon cut from the same material.
