Over the last couple of years, the popularity of the “nose warmer” has not only sustained, but increased. What makes nose warmers so compelling to so many collectors and smokers is, of course, its distinctively convenient size, which, although there is no hard or fast length convention, unofficially scales to anything below four and half inches long. So it goes without saying that there is a difference between a nose warmer and a small pipe, the latter typically makes up much of Big Ben’s regular productions (ironic considering the maker’s name). They must have sought some distinction on this through the rather obvious titling of this piece, most are not so specific; however, even by nose warmer standers, it is small, at just under four inches. And its form is surprisingly not cartoonish in the slightest, which usually besets many of its kind, rather instead of “stubby, chubby, and hefty”, it retains an unmistakably smooth and rather playful Danish style, as well as a chamber that may surprise you.
