Brigham: The Muskoka (Rock Maple Inserts)
Product Number: 002-491-1033
Like other pipes of Brigham's Presidential line, the Muskoka bears the kind of plateau-crowned, free-hand shaping Herb Brigham personally preferred in his own pipes, as well as a name referencing locations of executive-class leisure. The Muskoka is a region north of Toronto peppered with some 1,600 lakes, as well as numerous golf courses, country clubs, marinas, and summer estates, many of which have been maintained and passed down through families for generations. The area takes its name from 19th century Ojibwa chieftain Mesqua Ukie, whose own people (paralleling today's seasonal residents) used it as fishing and hunting grounds while maintaining their regular habitations to the south, which was better suited for agriculture.
