Sandblasted Danish Dublin with Cocobolo (133) (2013)

Product Number: 002-568-0012

Grant does some pretty interesting things with bowl-to-shank proportions, and likewise interesting things with flow and line as well. And more often than not, he does both at the same time - just like he has here. Flaring, naturalistic, and yet controlled as well, with a softly-contoured, Egg-like bowl turning suddenly to craggy plateau, and a crisp, extra dark and smoky sandblast accented by perfectly turned cocobolo and a pale, creamy slip of a saddle bit... Well, there are two things I take away from handling this briar. One is that there is a lot going on here. The other is that Grant has done a beautiful job of making it all work.
