Like Claudio Cavicchi, Tonino Jacono is keen on getting the very best briar for his pipes. So keen in fact that he uses the same source as Claudio, and it shows. It wouldn't show half so well, of course, if Tonino didn't know what to do with it, but fortunately for us all, he most certainly does: shape a beautiful Italian pipe out of it. That's just what he's done here, resulting in smoothly pleasing lines, loads of gorgeous grain, and a rich and smoky contrast.
