Ichi Kitahara: Smooth Bent Brandy with Boxwood

Product Number: 002-340-0120

A very smooth and handy number, here Ichi presents a neat, seamless Apple with a Brandy-like low-centered massing to the bowl, along with a very, very subtle organic touch: the rim, ever-so-slightly, rolls being almost imperceptibly higher at the front-left and right-rear quarters. Overall this is quietly elegant and subdued little shape, though, as is not infrequently the case with Ichi Kitahara, he pushes the flare of the shank to that point where just a hair more would be too much — which is to say, he adds plenty of it, while knowing when things are "just right".
