Ichi Kitahara: Smooth Wave with Boxwood
Product Number: 002-340-0122
This is, at once, both the most compact and the quietest Wave I've seen from Ichi Kitahara. There's definitely motion to this shape and substance backing it up, yet his flair at the rim is tightly reigned, and he's eliminated it completely from the end of the shank. Where he didn't hold back is in the roll, the stummel being one powerful curl, and the undulating motion of the rim and its edge being particularly compressed and intense — that great swell seeming to lift and carry the chamber, contrasted by the crisp, light flick of the leading and trailing edges.
