Is it me, or do you also find it a bit odd that the two finest, 100% hand-carvers of straight, traditional English shapes today live/work in Greece? To my mind, that is the case when it comes to the work of Chris Asteriou and Michail Kyriazanos, the latter of which is now before you. Petite (think big Group 2/smallish Group 3), and boasting a stone-perfect shape, the one thing about this pipe which isn't traditional is the material; strawberry wood replaces briar. Why strawberry wood? If being slightly lighter in weight and more absorbent than briar isn't quite enough, the grain is flat amazing.
