Nording: Black Grain Freehand with Plateau
Product Number: 002-508-1270
Erik Nording must be harvesting his briar from another planet, at least with this pipe, because for all its hefty bulk, the Black Grain freehand is surprisingly light. The illusion, however, may lie in the breadth and depths of the hollowed out chamber, which will most definitely provide a considerably long lasting smoke, perfect for a tall stack of multi-blend. Nording surely knew this too, so for your smoking consideration flattened the bottom of the heel and shank, making it a very stable sitter. And while taking a brief intermission, admire its craftsmanship, its charmingly natural asymmetrical shaping, the sincere tan-over-black contrast stain, artfully composed flame grain and the rim, teeming with birdseye, somberly eroded by a patch of plateau.
