Back in the days of yore, we often used “Pick” and “Shark’s Tooth” as title shapes, something that I can’t recall seeing with any frequency since around 2008. Not sure if the change was due to a lack of applicable shapes, or if they were all crammed into a bent Dublin header, but when I saw this singular form (for Ikebana), I was ready to pounce, old titles at the ready. Just one problem, this pipe is neither a Pick nor Shark’s tooth; it’s too soft/rounded to be the former, and far too symmetrical to be the latter. I guess I’ll just have to settle referring to this Kikuchi creation as the first bent Dublin of its kind from Ikebana.
