If the light crusting of plateau Adam left along the rim of this polished beauty weren't enough to evidence that it was shaped from a plateau block, the grain pattern itself would likely give it away. Quick, straight streaks of vertical grain are obvious enough all across the bowl, but peaking at the underside you'll also find a great, broad stroke of fine-stranded flame grain as well - running at a full 90 degrees to the bowl. Shaping-wise, this is a deliciously smooth number in hand, and pretty substantial as well; Adam's branched out into larger briars over the past year or so, and this deep-chambered, simply lovely rendition of the Acorn is a result of that expansion of his portfolio.
