Not only does our latest offering from the J. Alan workshop boast some of the finest turns and tumbles one is likely to find of any Horn shaped piece, it's also simply beaming in mouth-wateringly brilliant grain. Now, while the latter is a sentiment that gets tossed around too often (and I'm sure I'm guilty of this), in this instance Chris Johnson's photography clearly speaks for itself. And so does the former notion, while we're at it.
What impresses me most about Jeff Gracik's work is how masterfully well done it is. One can pour attention over every feature, every turn and crevice, from the pipes' stem slotting to the bowl's wildly undulated rim, to the pipe's subtle x-axis asymmetry, and it becomes absolutely evident the kind of painstaking care for detail that goes into a J. Alan pipe. I'm certainly not alone in this camp; to date, Jeff's work is some of the most highly sought in the American pipe market.
Once again, Jeff has outdone himself.
