Ardor is very postmodern as it picks up schools, styles and features like luggage, and this bent Egg is an excellent example of that. Underneath the fancy shaping, inventive finishes, colorful palettes, and characteristic accents, the pipe's smooth flowing gesture asserts a clearly Danish stylization. Where things begin to complicated is in the proportioning, which is somewhat taken to extremes by Ardor's Italian roots, specifically the Northern canon. There is also a touch of German in there too, seen in the angular, more muscular cuts defining the form in rows of geometric panels and in the pointed heel. In the end though, a pipe this beautiful is proof that it does not matter where ideas come from, but where they are taken.
