Ardor in recent years has flung itself headlong down an aesthetic path of its own creation. It's easy to forget that just a few years ago, Ardor's style was very much within the northern Italian oeuvre. Of course, we still see that influence from time to time in their current pipes. This lovely Marte is an excellent example of that. Beautiful grain is dutifully highlighted by the attractive brown contrast stain, complemented by the light colored zebrawood ferrule at the end of the shank. The classically Italian interpretation of the bent dublin shape is just delightful, with its thick shank and flaring bowl, terminating into beautiful plateau on the rim.
