Alveare Fantasy Bent Apple Tobacco Pipe

One can always recognize an Ardor Fantasy series pipe; their forms evoke the imagination and beckon the mind to explore possibilities of the future. Most any shape execution that falls outside of the rigid "book" parameters, can often serve as a type of Rorschach test, and this Alveare apple brings to my mind the shape of the inter-planetary ship "Discovery One", from Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey. I don't discern the presence of a HAL 9000 computer on this pipe, and I'm not unhappy about that (falls into a reverie. "Dave, you know that you didn't swab our mortise after that last smoke?" "Fer Chrissakes, give it a rest Hal, and for the last time.my name's not DAVE!"). The things that I do discern, however; the wonderful Alveare carved finish and the Rovera signature acrylic and sterling mount/tenon/bit combination, combine in a marvelous manner. Recommended.
