A particularly choice example of the Ashton Brindle, this classic straight Apple sits with aplomb, while presenting not only a sound ring grain, but also an exceptionally lovely bit of cumberland. When I showed it to Adam, his guess was that Jimmy Craig either dug up or acquired some older rod; evidently it's the only way cumberland with this sort of vivid, clear, and deep red is available nowadays.
