The profile is light and graceful, and shows more than a little influence from the classically delicate Prince, but taking this Askwith Rhodesian in hand I was surprised to find what a solid little briar it actually is. The shank and transition may be trim, but delicate they are not, and there's plenty of substance to the bowl's walls. The latter's external shaping, I suspect, reinforces this impression - it's a proportionally taller take on the Rhodesian, bit still very firm in style and feel. In addition to all that, a U-shaped underside to the bowl and tapered lowermost chamber maintain more mass down low, and the aluminum mount is machined, not formed from tube. A very solid pipe indeed.
