Becker: Smooth Ballerina with Horn (Royal Flush)
Product Number: 002-007-0526
The Ballerina is not exactly the most common of shapes, even relative to various other freehand designs that have been introduced within the past decade or two. This doesn't strike me as particularly surprising, as it poses the challenge of both creating a graceful and elegant profile with a near-vertical stem, a lengthy extended foot and a prominently forward bowl, and the additional difficulty of putting it all together in such a way that it will also sit with both stability and poise. Paolo Becker's done all that, and for good measure he's also included plenty of spectacular flame grain and birdseye, and a slender, beautifully formed horn ferrule.
