The Tomato is an easy shape to make squat and stolid. Benni didn't do that though; no, he did it the hard way. He made it swooping, lively, lifting and graceful - a broad and shapely form, with all the effortless dynamic of a ballerina in her prime. And all the balance, too; this briar sits, and sits well, balancing just perfectly at a point just forward of the transition, bowl poised and upright, stem and bit held artfully aloft.
