As long as I have been describing the work of Benni Jorgensen, I can only recall one other bent Acorn of this caliber (it was a Lion), and I would have to give the edge to this bengal beauty on your monitor. While the Lion would have a slight lead in the grain department, the shaping execution of the Acorn is about as fine as any I have seen Benni create, no matter the form. Look at the way that the shank cradles the bowl, simultaneously elevating and enhancing the latter. One of the most amazing aspects of this interpretation is that it is as balanced physically as it is visually; the center of gravity lies just behind the rear of the bowl, making handling a delight.
