Sandblasted Bent Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Like his son, Lasse Skovgaard, Benni Jorgensen really has a way with using sweeping edges to add an element of crispness and definition to designs that are in the main organic of nature. Case in point is this bent Acorn, where we find the wrap-around plane that makes up the flanks and rear face of the bowl coming off like a shell of sorts, embracing the softer form hinted at by the continuous, smoothly rounded underside and similarly contoured rim. This effect is of course helped along the way by Benni's orienting in harmony with the briar's ring grain, which is brought out in subtle Danish style by a light sandblast and black finish.
