When it comes those pipes produced by American carver Bruce Weaver, by and large his audience is rabid for all pipes sandblasted, due in most part to his trademark, micro-fine blasting method. But then a pipe like this comes along and you've just got to testify that when it comes to finishing briar, Weaver is no one-trick pony. Not only is this piece deliciously polished and gentle in the hand, and not only does this piece show off some remarkable, thoughtfully oriented grain (especially in this price point), but the shape so seductively supple, so languid, and so precise of line, that at first blush you have to wonder if it came out of a Danish master's workshop. Nope. This is the work of Bruce Weaver.
