Butz-Choquin: Montmartre (1285)
Product Number: 002-010-0573
This series takes inspiration (or at least its name) from the inherent beauty of the hill to the north of Paris, a district that boasts many famous sites including the white-domed Basilica Sacré Cœur, as well as the destination and home of many famous artists including Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. This pipe seems to fully embrace the prestige and cultural importance of Montmarte, as it is bestowed with a bright brass, wedding ring-like band around the shank and soft, elegant rustication, to me, reminiscent of Parisian cobblestone-lined streets, lit by the sparse streetlights, in the dusky red hues of sunset.
