The Ascortis recently gave us the chance to introduce their "reboot" of the old Caminetto marque, and as part of that, lo and behold, there was included in the very first shipment our very own Caminetto-made Christmas pipes. This limited series is split between two shapes: a generously proportioned bent Brandy sitter, and this generously proportioned Lovat - also quite capable of keeping itself upright. Though they are two different designs, there's a clear relation between them, with the bent Brandy adopting the firm, just-barely-tapered shank and the saddle bit of the Lovat, while the Lovat sports a bowl that carries much of its weight and breadth down low, in the style of a Brandy.
This particular pipe, number 4-of-8, is offered up in the handsome walnut of the "Marrone" finish, polished smooth, and presenting the briar's flame-grained flanks with great definition despite the dark shade.
