About This Pipe
While the underlying basis of this Castello is a simple neoclassical layout - a bold-heeled, big-bowled rendition of the old Billiard - Castello's livened things up a bit with smoothly undulating lines at the rim and shank-face, as well as a gentle bit of flare to the latter as well, and, finally, the relaxed gesture of a down-turned stem. Though this briar didn't receive an "Occhio di Pernice" stamp, it has to be said that it doesn't lack for birdseye; the right flank, as well as the forward face of the bowl, is pretty much covered in the stuff.
