From 1947 until 1980, this handsome pipe's nomenclature stamp would simply state that it was a Collection. In 1980 it was decided to differentiate the Collection pipes that sported exemplary birdseye with the "Collection Occhio di Pernice" stamp. Collection pipes aren't generally stamped with a shape number, this is a 15-Q, nonetheless, and the crosscut on the rim, top of the shank, and a couple of the ordinal panels should bring a smile. As far as the occhio runs, take a glance at pictures 2 & 3, and you make the call.
