Saying that Claudio Cavicchi knows how to make a pipe would be like observing that Mario Andretti and Sir Stirling Moss know how to drive. From drilling to finishing, Claudio is a master, and not only manages to turn out some of the finest briars around, but, from what I've been told, is able to do so with surprising alacrity. That, combined with his stringent demands on the quality of what he produces, might go some way to explain why he's able to offer something like this thoroughly ring-grained, full-bodied bent Acorn at a price so modest by the standards of most other established artisans.
