Claudio Cavicchi's perfectionist streak is, to put it mildly, considerable. As such, it can sometimes be something of mystery as to why some spectacularly gorgeous smooth briar didn't make it into a higher grading tier. In the case fo this "CCC", I'm guessing that it was on account of the small handful of birdseye appearing, quite nicely centered mind you, at the bowl's heel. Granted, with the drop-dead beautiful flame grain running right down into the underside, there isn't actually much room left for birdseye at all. But, in the end, if Claudio Cavicchi didn't hold his creations to the extremely high standards he is known for, he couldn't rightly be known for holding his creations to extremely high standards, could he?
