The flame grain covering the lower portions of this straight Bulldog is lovely, and certainly plentiful. However, the real prize is up top: the birdseye. Claudio really nailed it on the head here, in matching the right shape to just the right piece of briar. Short and broad, the bowl concentrates the appearance of the flame, while at the same time providing a wide and polished canvas, neatly bordered by double bead-lines, for the birdseye to show its stuff.
