Chris Asteriou is not yet a well known pipe maker. However, as long as he continues to produce work this clean in line, this meticulously well done (note that the tenon sleeved in titanium), and this elegant shaped, he's sure to become a household name soon enough. This is just a perfect pipe; it's proportional balance is spot on, the bowl is canted just so, the shank is appropriately lengthy for the composition, and the stem is perfectly tapered and fishtailed. What's more, the craggy, almost matte volcanic ebony rusticated surface juxtaposes handsomely against the swirling smooth black and red cumberland mouthpiece. Any pipe smoker should be happy to call this piece his own.
