I feel that, generally, the Author shape doesn't get a fair shake. This take on the fabled Comoy's "256" has become somewhat of a signature shape for Chris. He certainly understands (and exaggerates) the main appeal of the classic: chubbiness
. The bowl is plump and the transition is akin to a linebacker in a stretched-out turtle neck... Where does the chin end, and the shoulders begin? NO ONE KNOWS!
The sandblast is fine and detailed, and the warm stain pairs very well with the swirling-patterned and expertly-cut Cumberland stem (bonus!). Internally, the fit and engineering are top-notch, as we would expect from the briar Architect.
