Dunhill: Shell Briar (5101) (2001)

Product Number: 002-015-2111

There have been one or two periods in Dunhill's long history when quite deep and rugged sandblasts were the rule, but for the past several decades light, finer blasts are pretty much universal across the Shell Briar, Ruby Bark, and other such finishes. This Group 5 straight Apple doesn't seem to have gotten the news, however, as it presents thoroughly craggy landscapes across both flanks - perhaps not as deeply scoured as in the old days, but still quite an outlier compared to what we're now used to. Personally, I like it; the resulting look is charmingly rustic, and the extra texture is plenty pleasant in hand as well.
