The Dunhill Root Briar has been around for some eight decades now, and to this day remains both highly desirable, and relatively rare, compared to other Dunhill finishes. Along with the Amber Flame, it also happens to be one of the finishes chosen to dress the extremely rare "DR" grade briars, which are selected for their exceptional grain. And that brings me to a point of curiosity regarding this particular Dunhill Root Briar straight Apple: that I'm really surprised it doesn't
sport a "DR*" stamping. Ultra-fine, copious, and simply gorgeous, the flame grain that covers both of this briar's flanks easily deserves it.
