Dunhill's little Group 1 pipes, though considered highly desirable, make up quite a small fraction (no pun intended) of their overall production. The extra-warm, extra-rich, thoroughly beautiful Amber Root finish isn't exactly terribly common, either, when compared to their other finishes. Curiously enough, however they do seem to like slapping it onto their Group 1 designs. And yet, curiously again, this is the very first time we've ever had an example of the classic "01" straight Apple in Group 1, despite seeing plenty in Group 2 size. That's a bit of a shame, really, as the combination of shape style and diminutive, pocket-pipe proportions makes for a particularly charming result, especially as complemented by the dusky, understated warmth of the Amber Root.
