While Dunhill Group 1 briars aren't exactly the most common around, I'm still surprised to find that this is but the second example of one in this straightforwardly English Shell Briar/shape "03" combination that we've received in six or seven years. What's more classical than a straight Billiard? What's more traditionally English than a black sandblast? Go figure. Apparently Dunhill just prefers to make these in the fancier smooth finishes - Bruyere, Amber Root, Dress, etc. Personally, I think a bit of extra ruggedness and texture does smaller pocket-pipe shapes a lot of good.
