Dunhill: Cumberland (5101) with Horn Army Mount (2013)
Product Number: 002-015-2191
Though we've seen plenty of Dunhill's with precious metal mounts, from sterling silver to rose gold, horn-mounted specimens have always been quite a bit scarcer, with barely over a dozen previous examples received new (i.e. outside of our estates department). My (educated?) guess would be that Sykes or Ted or Dennis just happened to spot a batch of these rarities at a Dunhill table during a recent show, and snatched them up while the snatching was good. In other words, we may have had several hit the site lately, but once they're gone it'll be back to the waiting game once again.
