Last year's tamper represented Clara, also known as Marie, the young daughter of the Stahlbaums and the heroine of the tale, holding her beloved present, the Nutcracker. This time around the silver tamper depicts Fritz, Clara's brother - best known for being a bit of jerk and intentionally breaking the titular Nutcracker, which would later transform into Clara's Prince.
