Even now, as I look at this hypnotic Heding Gold Grade, I can almost hear a ‘whoosh’, as it speeds through space towards another adventure. (Yes, I know that there would be no ‘whoosh’ in the vacuum of space, but don’t take it up with me, take it up with the estate of Gene Roddenberry (heh)). This bent Dublin sports impeccably clean lines, a transition of angles so effortless that one tends to forget there are transitions, as well as a sense of forward momentum so conspicuous, that I half find myself searching for a radar gun. Between the form, the brilliant burst of banging birdseye on the softly domed rim and the warp-driven straight and flame grain on the body, I am not sure that any pipe collector could walk past this Gold grade Peter Heding speedster and not pull up short (I surely couldn’t, and I’m pretty jaded)--R. ‘Bear’ Graves
