Over the years Peter Heeschen has produced quite a few of his lovely rendition of the bent Dublin. And that's a good thing, because this shape (one of my favorites) is simply elegant. By canting the bowl forward a few degrees from the shank, Peter has lined up the general shape of the composition with the natural direction of the grain; it looks perfect. And the grain is really very lovely as well, stained in a deep hue of red, the thin stripes of briar grain look simply raked out with a fine brush. Fitted with one of Peter's favored half saddle stems (here accented with a tulipwood band), this pipe promises to be as comfortable in the teeth as it is in the hands.
