J&J: Partially Sandblasted Blowfish
Product Number: 002-527-0046
The Blowfish shape first started out as a rounded-bowl, more-or-less Apple-like design, then progressed into a panel-flanked variation that became the standard we know today. "Standard", I specify, because there are now plenty of other variations now out there as well, though one thing that remains common amongst most is that the panels are used to display birdseye as the composition's centerpiece. J&J here takes the branching of the Blowfish family tree even further, producing not only a particularly wild and flourishing shape, but also one which has had the role of the graining reversed: here the panels of the flanks are sandblasted, while the smooth, rolling and sweeping planes down the center are being used to emphasize this briar's unusually fine cross-grain.
