Certainly one of my favorite shapes from the venerable firm of L’Anatra, the execution of the three-quarter bent Apple could be a poster-child for the most elegant side of the Pesaro school. From the near-perfect sphere of the bowl, to the impeccable transition of the shank off the same, to a lithe, delightfully elongated stem of poignant arc (a not-uncertain politesse), a sense of breeding shines through. Between the three-quarter bend and relatively light weight, this gem will hang in the jaw like a dream, though it will probably take a bit before you do so. With a pipe this attractive, who wants it below the line of sight anyway?
