By Jupiter’s ever-reliable thunderbolt! Given that L’Anatra means ‘the duck’ in Italian
, I have always wanted to open one of their descriptions with “Ah, my little chickadee”. With this jaw-dropping, 'One Egg' bent Dublin (I prefer to call this shape a “Pitcher”, but, then again, I call my pen “Xena”), I can’t even make ‘little’ work smoothly, even in the ironic sense.
While ‘Gigante’ will always let you know that you are getting a notable size upgrade, that degree of that upgrade can sometimes vary considerably, and this beautiful behemoth decidedly falls on the ”Damn!” side of the scale. As far as Mas & Andrea deciding to grade this briar as a 'One Egg', I have no idea what they were thinking. The shape is irreproachable, while there is a bit of wash on the front of the bowl, the sides boast solid-to-excellent grain. In my opinion, this Pitcher could blow away many 'Two Eggs' that I have described in the past. If you are a fan of well-done big briar, this is one that is definitely worth consideration.
