While the idea behind the L'Anatra Scottanaso series is that of an ode to the Nosewarmer (the series name itself is Italian for Nosewarmer), I'm more inclined to think of them as "Palmwarmers". The relative proportions, length of stem and shank compared to the height and breadth of the bowls and such, are very much like those expected of a Nosewarmer, yet the actual scale at which everything is rendered is another matter. This rakish Poker, for example, may be close in length to my light little Sebastien Beo bent Billiard, but there's probably a good three times more briar in this L'Anatra's bowl alone. It's not wasted either - this Scottanaso is sporting some serious flame grain and birdseye.
