Gregor Lobnik: Smooth Bent Apple with Bamboo
Product Number: 002-357-0063
As a student of Peter Matzhold, Gregor Lobnik's designs frequently display a similar theme of smooth, clean, minimalist form. That's clearly evident in the polished, rounded bowl of this bent Apple, which Gregor has then contrasted in both texture and form through the use of a very fine, slim transition, very compactly-knuckled bamboo extension, and mere slip of a bit. The resulting composition possess the sort of slender elegance of a fine Japanese bamboo-stemmed design, while still maintaining that "Austrian Architecture" sense of form that distinguishes Lobnik and Matzhold.
