Gregor Lobnik: Partially Sandblasted Bent Apple
Product Number: 002-357-0080
At 4.35", from bow-to-stern, if this impossibly alluring bent Apple isn't the most compact Lobnik we have placed on the site, it certainly would be a contender. While the charm would be difficult to deny and much of the appeal lies within a masterful shape execution, rather than simply relying on a bowl and shank plumped to the point that you half-feel the need to refer it to an endocrinologist, Gregor allows a lithe, deliciously thin bit to enhance the impression through simple juxtaposition. As I implied earlier, the shape is a huge factor in the appeal, but almost second-string to Lobnik's adroit integration of blast and smooth, as well as the monsoon of superbly striated grain, highlighted to perfection by his masterful contrast stain.
